<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing an aromatic polyether sulfone by which a recovered diphenyl sulfone (a solvent for reaction) having high purity is easily obtained and productivity of the aromatic polyether sulfone is enhanced. <P>SOLUTION: The method for producing the aromatic polyethersulfone is provided in which condensation reaction of a biphenol compound (1) and a dihalogenated biphenyl compound (2) is performed in the coexistence of a specific base and a diphenyl sulfone being a solvent. In the method, the diphenyl sulfone is solvent-extracted from a reaction mixture after the reaction, by the recovered solvent, the obtained extraction liquid is passed through an ion exchange resin to refine the liquid and then the recovered solvent is distilled off to recover the diphenyl sulfone. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
