PURPOSE: An object detection method and a radar system thereof are provided to improve frequency resolution by removing a large DC element. CONSTITUTION: A radar system includes a signal receiving part. The signal receiving part comprises a delayer(105), a mixer(107), a high frequency component eliminator(108), a sampler(109), a digital filter(110), a first converter(111), a constant false alarm rate processor(112), and a second converter(113). The delayer delays a transmission signal during certain time and outputs a first signal. The mixer mixes a received signal, generated by reflecting the transmission signal on an object, with the first signal. The high frequency component eliminator eliminates a high frequency component from the mixed signal and outputs a second signal. The sampler samples the second signal. The digital filter eliminates noises from the sampled signal and outputs a third signal. The first converter performs the Fourier transformation of the third signal and outputs a fourth signal based on a first Fourier transform length. The constant false alarm rate processor determines a frequency domain of an object based on a predefined determination function which determines a frequency in an object can be existed and the fourth signal. The second converter performs the Fourier transformation of the third signal based on the index information of the frequency domain and a second Fourier transform length.
