OPTICAL DISPLAY DEVICE HAVING POLARIZING FILM

摘要

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical display device using a polarizing film of 10 μm or less in thickness that has high optical characteristics.

SOLUTION: The optical display device includes a polarizing film which is a continuous web composed of a polyvinyl alcohol resin in which a dichroic substance is oriented; is made into 10 μm or less in thickness because a laminate containing the polyvinyl alcohol resin layer which forms a film on an amorphous ester-based thermoplastic resin substrate is radially extended through a two-stage extension process constituted by aerial auxiliary extension and boric acid underwater extension; and has optical characteristics satisfying the conditions: P>-(100.929T-42.4-1)×100 (when T<42.3) and P≥99.9 (when T≥42.3), where T is single transmittance and P is a degree of polarization.
