[Also in Group XIX] A process for encasing a coilable metal rule or other strip 6 in a transparent synthetic resinous film 16, preferably of polyethelene terephthalate, comprises passing the strip against rollers to coat both sides with an adhesive such as a polyester composition, passing the strip through a heating chamber to flash off the solvents and then applying the film. The film is folded round the strip by rollers and bonded thereto by additional rollers using a butt seam, or a lap seam 18. |
