An electric-shockproof device is provided, including: an electric field sensor (8), mounted at a predetermined position of the engineering machine's telescopic arm (3) and used for detecting the electric field signal of the predetermined position. Controller (9) is electrically connected with the sensor (8) for receiving the electric field signal, determining the magnitude of the distance between the telescopic arm (3) and the high-voltage cable based on the electric field signal relative to the predetermined distance, and finally sending signal to the engineering machine according to the determined result. Further an electric-shockproof method relevant to the device is also provided. The electric-shockproof device and the method thereof can effectively prevent the arm (3) from touching the high-voltage cable, ensure operation safety and reliability, improve constructing efficiency and extend service life of the machine.
