The invention relates to medicine. An appliance for inhaling, preferably, a gaseous mixture of xenon and oxygen, comprises a closed respiratory circuit including a patient's respiratory mask, a device for absorbing carbon dioxide and at least one respiratory reservoir coupled to a gas-distributing unit which is connected to a gas source and, via xenon and oxygen sensors, to a gas analyzer. The closed respiratory circuit comprises a gas collector, the body of which contains the gas analyzer xenon and oxygen sensors, the device for absorbing carbon dioxide, a safety valve and at least one respiratory reservoir. A non-return valve is mounted at the gas-collector input and connects the latter to the gas-distributing unit, and a shut-off valve is mounted at the gas-collector output and connects the gas collector via a respiratory tube to a bactericidal filter and to the respiratory mask. The gas-distributing unit comprises a system for controlling gas consumption.
