In one embodiment, an authentication method is disclosed, comprising: receiving, at the electronic device, a first input; determining a password theme based on the first input and user preferences associated with the password theme; displaying the password theme, the displayed password theme comprising a plurality of visual cues; receiving, at the electronic device, a second input comprising a sequence of visual cues selected from the visual cues; verifying the sequence of visual cues; and providing access to the electronic device based on the verification.

1. An authentication method for an electronic device, comprising:
receiving, at the electronic device, a first input; determining a password theme based on the first input and user preferences associated with the password theme, wherein determining the password theme based on the first input and user preferences associated with the password theme comprises: determining the password theme based on a stored mapping table comprising a mapping between a plurality of password themes and a plurality of moods of a user associated with one or more of the plurality of password themes; displaying the password theme, the displayed password theme comprising a plurality of visual cues; receiving, at the electronic device, a second input comprising a sequence of visual cues selected from the visual cues; verifying the sequence of visual cues; and providing access to the electronic device based on the verification, wherein determining the password theme based on the first input and user preferences associated with the password theme further comprises: receiving input from a user at a touch screen device; and identifying a current mood of the user based on at least one of a duration of a stroke on the touch screen device, an angle of a stroke on the touch screen device, and a pressure applied to the touch screen device during a stroke, wherein the password theme is based on the current mood.
