Object of the invention is to provide a bilayer that is sensitive towards acids and bases, in particular to ammonia and/or amines, under different conditions, for example under varying temperature and/or varying humidity. This object was met by providing a bilayer sensor comprising a substrate carrying a bilayer, which bilayer comprises a first layer comprising an organic semiconductor and a second layer comprising a compound selected from the group consisting of acidic compounds and basic compounds.
