Driver assistance system with warning function

The system i.e. electronic data processing system (10), has an evaluation device (28) for evaluating a driver alertness based on driving dynamics of a vehicle and prevents a warning function (12) during determined alertness of the driver. The evaluation device outputs an alertness signal when a longitudinal acceleration of the vehicle falls below a negative threshold value and exceeds a positive threshold value. A radar sensor (14) and/or a video system (16) are provided for detecting driving situations.
