<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus that informs a user of the time until when printing is completed and that completes the printing with a desired level of quality within a desired time. <P>SOLUTION: A recording head 34 includes: a nozzle 134n that discharges an ink to a recording medium 42; a pressure-generating means that makes the nozzle 134n discharge the ink; and a head-driving circuit 609 that outputs driving signals for making the nozzle discharge the ink. The image forming apparatus includes: a means for detecting the temperature of the head-driving circuit 609; a means for calculating the time required until when the printing is completed, based on inputted print jobs; a means for reporting the time thus calculated, required until the completion of the printing; a means for setting a desired printing time; and a means for carrying out printing while preventing the temperature of the head-driving circuit 609 from rising, so that the printing is completed within the desired printing time required. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
