<p>A multi-axis photoelectric sensor (S), which detects high-level signals while a detection area is not blocking light, and which stops output in response to the detection area blocking light, wherein sequences of changes in states in which light enters or is blocked from the detection area by each optical axis and in inputs from muting sensors (A1, B1, A2, B2) are divided into stages in order to perform monitoring, and muting is implemented on the condition that a stage is proceeding normally. When an abnormality is detected in a sequence in a stage during monitoring, notification of the type of stage in which the abnormality was detected is provided by causing indicator lights (10, 20) to blink etc. a certain number of times corresponding to the stage in which the abnormality was detected.</p> |
