<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a projector in which reduction in manufacturing cost and improvement of cooling efficiency of an optical modulation device are achieved by reducing an incident side polarizer of the optical modulation device. <P>SOLUTION: A projector 1 includes a light source device 10 for emitting a light beam including R light, G light, and B light with different wavelength regions, a first dichroic mirror 31 for reflecting the B light and transmitting other color light in the light beam emitted from the light source device 10, a second dichroic mirror 32 for reflecting the G light and transmitting other color light in the light beam transmitting through the first dichroic mirror 31, a polarizer 56 disposed on a surface of either the first dichroic mirror 31 or the second dichroic mirror 32, and an optical modulation device 50 for modulating the R light, the G light, and the B light. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
