<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform a retrieval corresponding to an elevation angle by using general-purpose map data. <P>SOLUTION: On the basis of information from a GPS module, a current position of a digital camera is detected (step S101). On the basis of detection output from a gyro unit, a direction of the digital camera is detected as an elevation angle (step S102). Further, while referring to an elevation angle/distance conversion table, the elevation angle obtained in the step S102 is converted into a distance from the digital camera (step S103). Positions on map data corresponding to (1) position, (2) direction (azimuth) and (3) distance are then retrieved (step S105) and a name of an existing object (target) at the retrieved point (latitude/longitude) is read from the map data (step S106). <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
