<p>The invention relates to a device for propelling a vehicle, which includes : a power unit (25) and at least one driving wheel (15, 16); hydraulic pumping means (10, 61) actuated by the power unit (25); a low-pressure hydraulic tank (11, 12) and a high-pressure hydraulic tank (13, 14), the pumping means (10, 61) drawing a fluid from the low-pressure tank (11, 12) to the high-pressure tank (13, 14); a first bidirectional converter (17, 18) for converting the hydraulic energy into mechanical energy and connected to the two tanks (11, 14) and to the driving wheel (15, 16), the bidirectional converter (17, 18) operating in a continuously variable manner either as an engine for supplying mechanical energy to the driving wheel (15, 16) or as a pump when the vehicle brakes so as to generate hydraulic energy by pressure difference between the high-pressure tank (13, 14) and the low pressure tank (11, 12).</p> |
