<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of treating dry eye disorders and uveitis. <P>SOLUTION: The topical use of 5,6,7-trihydroxyheptanoic acid and analogs are disclosed for the treatment of the dry eye disorders and uveitis. The method for treating dry eye disorders and the uveitis is disclosed. The 5,6,7-trihydroxyheptanoic acid and the analogs an administered to a patient.
