<p>The method involves providing a steel slug (12) that extends in a longitudinal direction (11) and is formed with screw-shaped groove (13) along entire length at an external peripheral surface. A longitudinal portion of the slug is heated. The slug is clamped between two stop elements (45, 46) in a longitudinally resistant manner. A relative position of the elements is adjusted in the direction such that the longitudinal portion is radially bulged in the direction. The slug is cooled to ambient temperature and machined in a region of the bulged longitudinal portion to a desired final shape.</p> |
