A gas cigarette lighter adapted to be operated by one hand comprises a pressure member 12 which is pressed downwardly to actuate a lever 13 for lifting the nozzle discharge valve 15, and a locking lever 14 which retains the pressure member in the open position of the discharge valve. The pressure member is provided with a guide pin 17 disposed in a hole in the lighter casing and with a square projection 24 which passes through an opening 25 in the locking lever. A spring 18 urges the pressure member upwardly to the closed position of the valve 15. The locking lever is pivoted to the casing and is urged by a spring 27 so that its opening 25 is out of alignment with the square projection 24 of the pressure member. The movement of the locking lever is defined by the lower end of a bolt 26 on the lever moving in a slot 34, Fig. 5 (not shown), in the lighter body. The locking lever 14, the pressure member 12, and a member 8 for operating the ignition wheel projects through openings 10, 9, 8 in a cap 4. A holder for the lighter is provided with a magnet. |
