The device has bundle of laminations parallel to each other, which are arranged between the arc guide rails running along the arc extinguishing chamber. The metal sheets (17) are arranged in arc extinguishing chamber along longitudinal side by side wall. The vents (341-343) for deriving arc extinguishing gases from arc extinguishing chamber, is associated to quenching chamber zone. The vents are provided in different zones (Z1,Z2,ZM) to which end walls (33a) with different cross sections are provided, so that outflow of arc extinguishing gases is influenced in zones.
