PURPOSE:To provide the title composition which is safe from a food hygienic viewpoint and excellent in lubricity, oxidative stability, etc., by using as the base oil a specific glycerol ester of at least one medium-chain saturated fatty acid. CONSTITUTION:At least one member selected from a diglycerol triester, a diglycerol tetraester, a triglycerol tetraester, and a triglycerol pentaester of at least one 6-14C saturated fatty acid (e.g. caproic acid) is used as the base oil to produce this composition. Incorporation of a 12-22C fatty acid (e.g. oleic acid) in an amount of 0.001-5wt.% based on the whole composition is effective in further improving lubricity, corrosion prevention, etc. A antioxidant (e.g. BHT) may be added according to need. The obtained composition is suitable for use as a lubricating oil for, e.g. the drive of a food processing machine or apparatus. |
