<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical fiber cable which is superior in waterproof performance to be surely protected from water penetration, without using too many water cutoff members. <P>SOLUTION: A plurality of optical fiber units 5 are arranged in an optical fiber cable 1. Each optical fiber cable 5 is obtained by bundling and unitizing a plurality of coated optical fibers 7. An inner water cutoff material 17 is provided in a substantially central position of the optical fiber cable 1. The inner water cutoff material 17 is disposed among the optical fiber units 5 in a unit assembly 13 (in a center of the unit assembly). The inner water cutoff material 17 comprises water-swellable fibers or string-like member which absorbs water to swell. An outer water cutoff material 15 is provided on an outer peripheral part of the unit assembly 13.
