PURPOSE: A primer for detecting mycobacterium tuberculosis and nontuberculous mycobacteria is provided to effectively and simultaneously detect the bacteria. CONSTITUTION: A primer set which is specific to 16S rRNA gene of non-tuberculous mycobacteria contains a forward primer of sequence number 3 and one or more reverse primer selected from a primer of sequence number 4, 5, or 6 and a reverse primer of sequence number 7. A kit for detecting mycobacterium tuberculosis and non-tuberculous mycobacteria comprises a primer set which is specific to IS6110 gene of the mycobacterium tuberculosis and one or more reverse primer selected from sequence number 3, 4, 5, or 6, and reverse primer of sequence number 7.
