An underwater well comprises a conductor pipe 4 and a cellar pipe 1 cemented to the water bed 2. The conductor pipe is centralized by members 8 and is cemented to the bed and the cellar pipe which is sealed by a flexible or movable cap 11. In a modification the lower end of the cellar pipe is tapered to dispense with the members 8. In a further modification the cellar pipe has a frusto-conical bottom welded to the conductor pipe. A platform 5 may be mounted on the conductor pipe which may also carry a wellhead 6 after the well has been drilled. |
