An indirect-type split-body passive laser angular position sensor composed of an indirect element (30) and a main body (52). The main body (52) consists of a laser recognition device (10), a marker element (20), a circuit board (40), a connector element (34) and a housing (50). The laser recognition device (10), marker element (20), circuit board (40), and connector element (34) are sealed inside the housing (50). Markers (21) are arrayed on the marker element (20). The laser recognition device (10) reads the markers (21) on the marker element (20), and the circuit board (40) encodes/decodes and calculates into readily usable formatted numerical code information the marker (21) readings taken by the laser recognition device (10). The indirect element (30) is composed of an active element (31) and a passive element (32). There is a toothed strip (33) both on the active element (31) and on the passive element (32). The marker element (20) is fixed to the connector element (34), and the connector element (34) is fixed to the passive element (32). The active element (31) is fixed to the object (60) being measured. The laser recognition device (10) is fixed, and the reader (11) on the laser recognition device (10) faces the markers (21) on the marker element (20). The angular position sensor works with a high degree of precision and can be used in various angular position measuring scenarios.
