<p>A device and method for implementing the output power control of a power amplifier are provided, and the device comprises: a first peak detector of the output terminal of the power amplifier, an Analog-to-Digital Converter, a power control module and a second peak detector of the input terminal of the power amplifier. The device and method utilize the detected input signal power and output signal power of the power amplifier to compute the actual gain of the power amplifier, and obtain the input signal power threshold value of the power amplifier in different power levels; the input signal power and the corresponding threshold value are compared, and the corresponding operation is performed according to the comparison result to effectively prevent the power amplifier from operating in a saturation status and damaging the transmitter, and avoid cross coverage of the base station and affecting the quality of communication network.</p> |
