<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To acquire a sufficient drawing force characteristic by retaining a coated optical fiber stored inside a slot groove by a simple configuration, and to prevent deterioration of power transmission characteristics of the coated optical fiber even if the slot is contracted by a low temperature. <P>SOLUTION: An optical fiber cable 10 is intermittently filled with a filler 7 with Shore D hardness of 40 or less interior a groove 2 of a slot 1. Where a length of the filler is L1, an interval of the filler 7 is L2, a width-directional cross-sectional area of the groove 2 is S1, a width-directional cross-sectional area of the filler 7 is S2, a filling rate of the filler 7 is L1/(L1+L2), and an occupancy rate of the filler 7 in the groove 2 is S2/S1, the filling rate is 0.03-0.6 and the occupancy rate is 0.3-0.9. Alternatively, the filler 7 may be intermittently fixed to a tape having a width longer than the width of the groove 2 and the tape may be stuck to cover the groove 2 such that the filler 7 is intermittently filled inside the groove 2. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
