<p>The present invention discloses a device protection method and apparatus. The method includes the follows steps: the chip of a master main control panel is stacked with the chip of a slave main control panel; the ports of the master main control panel and the slave main control panel which connect to the same service panel are port-aggregated; at the service panel side, the ports connected with the master main control panel and the slave main control panel are port-aggregated; when the protection switching happens, the master main control panel and the slave main control panel perform handover through the channel formed from stacking the chips and the service panel communicates with the slave main control panel through the aggregation channel formed from port-aggregation. With the method of stacking the chips of multiple main control panels and aggregating the ports of the chips, the present invention achieves the protection for communication devices and solves effectively the problem that the disconnection time is long in the procedure of the switching in the conventional ways.</p> |
