<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inductor having winding resistance with improved temperature stability. <P>SOLUTION: An inductor 10 includes an inductor body 12 having a top surface 14 and first and second end surfaces 18, 20 facing each other. There is a void 28 through the inductor body between the first and second end surfaces. A thermally stable resistive element 30 is positioned through the void and turned toward the top surface to form surface mount terminals 32, 34, 38, 40. When the inductor body is formed of a ferrite, the inductor body includes a slot 26. The inductor may be formed of a distributed gap magnetic material formed around the resistive element. The inductor body 12 is positioned around the thermally stable resistive element such that terminals of the thermally stable resistive element extend from the inductor body. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
