SORBENT FOR PURIFYING WATER FROM PHOSPHOROUS COMPOUNDS

This invention pertains to the field of sorbents for purifying waters, particularly purifying from phosphorous compounds. The mentioned sorbent contains hydrated oxides of metals having oxidation range (II) or (III) that are precipitated on surface of carrier. As carrier there are used biomass comprising plant staples (peat, sawdust, straw, etc.). Method for producing sorbent contains following steps: dissolving metal salts in water; treating carrier surface with mentioned solution; treatment of carrier with hydroxide of alkaline metals or alkaline-earth metals until precipitation of metal hydroxides on the surface of carrier; washing and drying modified biomass at room temperature; thermal treatment of rough-sorbent at a temperature of 40 to 85 centigrade. The ready-sorbent could be used for purifying waste water, drinking water and water for special uses from phosphorous compounds.
