<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image detection device and an image forming apparatus that are capable of suppressing catching of a medium when detecting an image on the medium by irradiating the medium in transport with light. <P>SOLUTION: An in-line sensor 200 includes a lamp 212, a CCD sensor 204, a window glass 286, and a support cover 280 for supporting the window glass 286. Here, the support cover 280 is provided with a window part 288A, with a portion of an edge thereof on the downstream positioned toward a lamp 212 relative to a bottom surface of the window glass 286. Therefore, the part of the edge of the window part 288A on the downstream will never be exposed to a transport path 60 of a recording medium P. This prevents a leading edge of the incoming recording medium P from touching the edge of the window part 288A, thereby suppressing catching of the recording medium P. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
