An item of footwear having a first sole portion and a second sole portion, the second portion being able to rotate. The rotatable portion is preferably towards the front of the sole, corresponding to the ball of a userâ s foot. A resiliently deformable webbing or band may provide a seal between the sole portions, and may maintain the sole portions in a preferred alignment. The rotatable section of the sole may comprise a rotatable plate surrounded by spring foam.
