PURPOSE: A system and a method for assigning an IP address based on user authentication are provided to include an allocated IP in the authentication result message of a terminal since an IP is allocated from a DHCP(Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol) server through a certificate server instead of the terminal. CONSTITUTION: A certificate server(104) receives an authentication request from a user terminal(102). The certificate server authenticates a user terminal based on the authentication request. The certificate server requests connection address assignment of an authenticated user terminal of a DHCP(Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol) server(106). The certificate server receives connection information including the connection address of the authenticated user terminal from the DHCP server. The certificate server transmits received connection information to the user terminal.
