A portable terminal having a two-way self-standing function is provided to enable a user to horizontally and vertically view displayed data more conveniently by enabling a main body to be stood up in a horizontal or vertical state. A portable terminal having a two-way self-standing function consists of a main body and a cradle(200). The cradle(200), connected to the main body by a two-axis hinge unit(210), slopingly stands the main body in the horizontal or vertical direction. The cradle(200), arranged at the lower surface of the main body, is used also as a battery pack. The two-axis hinge unit(210) provides the first hinge axis and the second hinge axis(A2). If the cradle(200) rotates with the first axis in the center, the two-axis hinge unit(210) also rotates with the first axis in the center. When the cradle(200) rotates with the second axis(A2) in the center, the two-axis hinge unit(210) doesn't rotate.
