PURPOSE: A method for detecting breast cancer using a specific biomarker is provided to accurately and quickly diagnose breast cancer. CONSTITUTION: A biomarker for diagnosing breast cancer or progress of the breast cancer contains methylated CpG of CHL1 gene of which expression is specifically decreased(NM_001257, Cadherin 13, H-cadherin(heart)), and TF gene(NM_001063, iron ion binding protein, transferrin) promoter. The biomarker has a base sequence of sequence number 1 or 2. A method for detecting breast cancer or progress comprises: a step of isolating DNA from a clinical sample; and a step of detecting methylation of CHL1 gene 1 or TF gene from the isolated DNA. The clinical sample is blood, plasma, urine, cell or sputum from a patient who may has breast cancer. |
