<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system and method for split-cycle engine waste heat recovery. <P>SOLUTION: A waste heat recovery system for a split-cycle engine includes a heat exchange unit, a heat exchange medium circulation loop and an air compressor device. The heat exchange unit returns a liquid engine coolant from an engine. An heat exchange medium circulates in the heat exchange medium loop, enters the heat exchange unit in a liquid state, absorbs engine waste heat from the engine coolant while passing through the heat exchange unit and exits from the heat exchange unit in a vapor state. The vapor heat exchange medium enters and drives an air compressor. The air compressor generates a compressed air generated from the engine exhaust and supplies the compressed air to a compressor cylinder of the engine and collects an engine exhaust energy from the engine coolant. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
