<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a search system capable of searching for a document having a map image using location information as a search key. <P>SOLUTION: A search index generation system includes: (1) means for extracting longitude/latitude information indicating an image range from attached data of one or plural map images or photographic images included in a document file; and (2) means for generating a search index including the longitude/latitude information and identification information for identifying a map image or a photographic image corresponding to the longitude/latitude information. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT
