PURPOSE: A device for preventing upward bending of a material is provided to efficiently prevent the upward bending of the leading end of a material discharged from a finishing mill by locating a spray part close to the material. CONSTITUTION: A device for preventing upward bending of a material comprises a frame part, a spray part(20i,20ii), a first moving part, a second moving part, and a control part. The frame part is arranged on the side of transfer rollers that transfer a material(S) discharged from the finishing mill. The spray part is installed in the frame part and sprays fluid toward the top of the material. The first moving part loves one side of the frame part from side to side in order to control the distance between the one side of the frame part and the material. The second moving part moves the other side of the frame part from side to side in order to control the distance between the other side of the frame part and the material. The control part controls the operations of the spray part, the first moving part, and the second moving part.
