<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image density control method that suppresses color difference fluctuation after half-tone correction, and an image forming apparatus. <P>SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus forms plural toner patterns for plural colors while changing the amount of light for writing in an optical system and imaging conditions, detects reflected light from the patterns using an optical sensor, converts an output from the sensor into the toner adhesion amount, and thereby changes the imaging conditions to obtain the proper toner adhesion amount. The image forming apparatus also determines a new writing condition to suppress rapid tone change in consideration of writing conditions that vary among different imaging colors. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
