<p>Plastic articles, e.g., furniture parts and containers, with a foam core and a solid skin, are produced by (a) injecting thermoplasticised foam core matl. and the solid skin matl. into an injection mould, (b) pressing together opposite solid skin regions in the still unhardened state so that they become welded together, and (c) stamping out moulded parts along the welded seams of the moulding. Method allows easy prodn. of complicated plastic articles from the separate moulded parts. The articles are strong, as reinforcing ribs can be moulded in the welded parts.</p> |
