A device for fumigating eggs comprises a cabinet 10 with gas-tight doors 14 and 15, a floor 11 beneath which is a compartment 16 accommodating means for producing a fumigating gas (e.g. a heated tray) which may rise through the holes 20 in the floor 11 and may be circulated throughout the cabinet via the impeller 23 and associated ducting 25. When fumigation is complete, the gas may be removed by the impeller 24 and air admitted via the valve 19 in the base of the cabinet, the whole operation being carried through automatically by means of a timer and associated electrical switching means. |
