<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a transmission type liquid crystal display having an auxiliary storage capacitor in a CMOS technology. <P>SOLUTION: The transmission type liquid crystal display relates to an image display by an active matrix liquid crystal display, in particular, can be applied to a small-sized display prepared on a silicon substrate (for instance, with LCOS, in other words, Liquid Crystal on Silicon technology which is a liquid crystal technology on a silicone). In the transmission type liquid crystal display, an auxiliary storage capacitor (C<SB POS="POST">st</SB>) is formed on a driving transistor of pixels, in other words, the driving transistor is formed between the liquid crystal and the storage capacitor. Each of the storage capacitors is formed of a plurality of partial capacitors in parallel which are mutually entered in each of metallized layers (M1 to M5). The metallization (aluminum and/or copper) is opaque, thereby the capacitor protects the transistor from light, and as the number of the metallized layers used for forming the structure in which the storage capacitors are mutually entered is larger, the protection level is more excellent. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
