A composition comprises (a) a sunless tanning agent; and (b) an adjuvant, comprising a vicinal diamine, where at least 50% by weight of the vicinal diamine is not loaded onto a microparticle delivery system. The sunless tanning agent is dihydroxyacetone, melanin, mehekanni, methyl gloxal, erthrulose, alloxan, 2, 3-dihyroxysuccindialdehyde, or a mixture thereof. Preferably, the vicinal diamine is 1,2,diaminocyclohexane or ethylene diamine. The vicinal diamine may have the formula: Where R, R1, R2, R3, are as defined herein, and a and b are independently 0 or 1. |
