<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve magnetic characteristics of an La-Co-containing M type ferrite manufactured by dry forming. <P>SOLUTION: The method of manufacturing the ferrite magnetic material comprising ferrite having a hexagonal structure as a main phase containing A, La, Pr, Fe and Co includes: a process for heating and keeping a raw material composition containing the whole or a part of the raw material of the ferrite magnetic material at a prescribed temperature to obtain a calcined body; a process for pulverizing the calcined body to obtain a forming composition; a process for drying and forming the forming composition in a magnetic field to obtain a formed body; and a process for firing the formed body to obtain a sintered compact. In such a case, a raw material relative to Pr is added by 40% of total quantity after the process to obtain the calcined body and before the process to obtain the formed body. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
