N-methyl pyrrolidone, in the presence of at least the equivalent amt. of an aliphatic tert. amine, pref. triethylamine, with N-substd. imide chlorides at 0 degree-50 degrees C, and heating the reaction product in an organic solvent, pref. glycerine, at a temp. >100 degrees C, pref. at 100 degrees - 190 degrees C and pref. in the presence of 0.1-2.0 moles. P2O5 per mole of added anthranilic acid. |
