Smoking mixture for cigarettes, cigars, pipes and the like comprising a solid black condensate of a compound of the formula R1 COCH2.CH2COR2 wherein R1 and R2, which may be the same or different, are H, alkyl, hydroxyalkyl or formyl. The condensate is mainly an aldol condensation product resulting from reaction between the carbonyl groups and the methylene groups of the monomer. |
