A seat belt control system and a method thereof are provided to secure safety of a passenger by using an air bag regardless of the vehicle speed when a collision occurs. A seat belt control system includes a seat belt(100) and a controller(200). The seat belt includes a webbing(110), a retractor(120), a buckle(130), and an anchorage(140). The webbing is formed of synthetic fibers, such as nylon or polyester, to absorb collision energy. The retractor accommodates the seat belt when the seat belt is not pulled. The buckle functions to mount or release the seal belt. The anchorage fixes one end of the webbing. The controller includes a parameter generating part, a parameter comparison part, an air bag adjustment part, and an air bag control unit. The parameter comparison part detects a threshold value to adjust operation of a belt deployment part.
