The method involves placing a waterproofing layer (26) on a ground (16), and covering the waterproofing layer with a coating material after hardening of polymeric material e.g. polyurethane foam. The waterproofing layer is set on the ground in a non-hardened state, where thickness (e1) of the waterproofing layer is adjusted. The hardening polymeric material is deposited on the ground by projection. A portion of the waterproofing layer is installed on a base (14) of an existing structure (10) e.g. dwelling house. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a waterproofing structure for limiting hydric variations of a ground (2) a waterproofing layer.
