The bar (4) has an axial channel exhibiting opening width and two legs with respective shoulders, where the opening width is larger than shoulder width. Depth of the axial channel corresponds to 0.73 to 3 times of the opening width. The bar is made from copper, and forms a cage together with poured aluminum. A groove is provided at an end of the bar, and exhibits tangential orientation with respect to a squirrel-cage rotor. A closure unit works against an outline of front side conductor ends at pressure-poured short circuit rings (5). An independent claim is also included for a squirrel-cage rotor comprising a rotor core provided with a rotor slot.
