Automatic door closure for a domestic appliance

The domestic appliance has a component side arranged rod (5) which is linearly displaceably mounted between one position in which the rod is fully retracted, and another position in which the rod is completely extended. The door side is arranged with a rod linkable gripper. A device-side arranged drive (6) is provided for closing the door (2) with the retraction of the rod from the partially extended position to fully retracted position with the rod linkable gripper. An independent claim is included for method for actuation of door of domestic appliance.
