Rotary travelling boom irrigator with nozzle spray deflector plate

A rotating boom irrigator is provided with first and second booms rotating about a common axis and each having a 75 degree bend 2 near, and a nozzle 4 at, a distal end. Only the second boom includes a deflector 6 adjacent the distal end so that the jet of water exiting the second boom nozzle 4 at an upwardly inclined angle A (30 degrees with respect to the horizontal) is redirected by the deflector to have an angle of 45 to 55 degrees with respect to the horizontal and to be in the form of an even fan spray of water. The deflector configuration includes a convex 15 redirect portion and, at an angle to the redirect portion, an attachment portion 14 to attach the deflector adjacent the end of the boom.
