<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image formation device capable of improving work efficiency without deteriorating image quality. <P>SOLUTION: In an image formation device, a reflection type optical sensor comprises an irradiation system including eleven light emission parts arranged in a principal direction with equal intervals therebetween and a light receiving system including eleven light receiving parts. In the reflection type optical sensor, an interval Le between light emission parts regarding the principal direction; a number m of detection light spots for irradiating one rectangular pattern; a dimension D of the detection light spot; a number N of the light emission parts; a number T of the rectangular patterns arranged in the principal direction; a gap PI of the two rectangular patterns neighboring in the principal direction; and a length Lt of the rectangular pattern in the principal direction are used to satisfy a relation T×(m+1)≤N, m×Le+D≤Lt≤((N-1)×Le+D)/T, and PI<((N-1)×Le+D-T×(m×Le+D))/(T-1)+Le/(T-1). <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
